I LOVE watching TV (Netflix/Hulu). Whenever someone asks me what they should watch I immediately spam them with 20 messages.
Summer is the perfect time to watch TV in my opinion. I mean sure you could go outside and swim but you could also spend your time inside with AC in the comfort of your own home. Without further ado I will introduce you to my top five favorite shows and movies on Netflix.
(In no particular order.)
1. Dynasty (TV Show)
-For people who like "Gilmore Girls," "Gossip Girl"
- Show premise: Follows America's wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they fight over their fortune.
-Why I like it: The show is very dramatic but easy to watch. I really love the characters and the strong female leads.
2. Nailed It (TV Show)
-For anyone who enjoys reality TV, comedy and cooking shows.
-Show premise: People with bad track records in the kitchen compete in a baking competition.
-Why I like it: It is hilarious. The cakes these people create usually don't look anything like they are supposed to. The judges are funny and it focuses on desserts which is my favorite type of food.
3. Orange is The New Black (Season six available July 27th.)
-For anyone who likes "story based" shows.
-Show premise: Follows Piper Chapman who was a public relations specialist who had a job and a fiance until her past caught up to her.
-Why I like it: This isn't usually the type of show I go for (especially when my favorite shows are New Girl and Gilmore Girls) but there is something special about this one. It is dark, but I really enjoy hearing the stories these woman tell and each episode is addicting. I'll admit this show isn't' for everyone and can be graphic at times but it is definitely a must in my opinion.
4.The Keepers (Documentary)
-For anyone who enjoys murder mysteries.
-Story premise: Follows woman who went to a Catholic school in the early 70's and tell about the abuse and the murder of their favorite school teacher/nun, Sister Cathy.
-Why I like it: I like the interviews and the old photos. I found it all very interesting.
5.When We First Met (Netflix Original Movie)
-For anyone who loves a good romantic comedy.
-Story premise: Noah meets the woman of his dreams after he spends the first "perfect" night with her, or so he thinks. He is immediately friend zoned. With the help of magic from a photo booth he goes back to that day so he can fix whatever he did wrong on that first night.
Why I like it: It is a classic feel-good romantic comedy. It also teaches you a lesson in "everything happens for a reason." SUPER CUTE!
